Working title: 'The Aesthetic Principle of Motion in French Spiritualist Realism: Maine de Biran, Théodore Jouffroy, and François Delsarte.'

My current research explores the philosophical foundation of Delsarte's aesthetic system, which is based on the anthropological writings of Maine de Biran (1766–1824) and the aesthetic theory of Théodore Simon Jouffroy (1796–1842), whose works belong to the philosophical school of Nineteenth-Century French Spiritualist-Realism.
